Time For Departure

The latest edition of Billy Graham's Decision magazine arrived this week. I always look forward to reading "The Quiet Heart" page with selected quotes and poems. This month's heading is "Time For Departure".

Here's one of the poems:

"Haste thee on from grace to glory,
Armed by faith, and winged by prayer.
Heaven's eternal days before thee
God's own hand shall guide us there.
Soon shall close thy earthly mission,
Soon shall pass thy pilgrim days,
Hope shall change to glad fruition
Faith to sight and prayer to praise."
- Henry F. Lyte

  3. Nice to see a fan of a Quiet Heart, and I'm pleased to see the poetry there is encouraging.

Lyte -- by no means light, but very much in the light. Over 100 years later, and his work still serves the Lord.

  4. I enjoy Decision mag. One day my sister called and asked the name of my college roommate who led me to the Lord. I told her and my sister said she was featured in Decision under the "Where are they now" section. I had lost touch with her but was able to contact her editor (she went on to write several books) and he in turn hooked me up with her again. :) I was her first person she led to the Lord after she had accepted Christ at a Billy Graham concert.

I always think it is so exciting to look down the "lineage". When you see it being duplicated and one becomes a "grandparent, then a great grandparent of the saved, it becomes so exciting.... :)
