TTD I MOO A CRD

How do you like the title of this blog? No it's not a Gaelic expression I picked up in Britain recently. Here's what it means: Things To Do In My Office On A Cloudy Rainy Day.

Today it's miserable outside. Cool, cloudy, rainy and damp. It's one of those days when it's good to be inside...in my office. There are so many "fun" things to do here...besides the ministry that takes place within these walls every day.

So...here's a list of Things I Can Do:

  1. Pray with and for others

  2. Read God's Word from numerous different translations

  3. Watch people as they walk by. (Mine is a corner office on the ground floor with four big windows so I can see lots of action from my desk)

  4. Watch and listen as a train goes by

  5. Say hi to clients who drop in to my office on their way to see the other tenants in our office complex

  6. Read my e-mails

  7. Send e-mails

  8. Listen to my CDs which have been "ripped" to my computer

  9. Read any number of books that are sitting on my shelves

  10. Relive my once-in-a-lifetime trip to England

  11. Design new cards and inserts for Epistle Sports Ministries

  12. Rehearse the great things God has done

  13. Write a friend

  14. Encourage a struggling fellow pilgrim

  15. Watch a DVD on The Life of C. S. Lewis

  16. Watch the line-up of cars over at the drive-through at Tim Horton's

  17. Read another book

  18. Write another letter

  19. Visit my friend in the next office when he comes in to see me

  20. Write a list of things I can do in my office on a cloudy, rainy day.

Now I better get back to work, my friends. Thanks for all the wonderful visits and comments from my PILGRIM PALS.

And, finally, a verse for today:

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God." - Hebrews 12:1,2 (ESV)

  1. Amen! to that great scripture you wrote. Funny I actually wondered what the weather was like over in ON today...it is extremely cold, windy, and rainy today. And it's supposed to SNOW tonight. When will spring ever arrive???!!!? I might as well remind myself, what I always tell everyone else...Rejoice evermore, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

(Now do we have to expect a TTDIMOOACRD list from the leading commentator here?)

  2. Let's see now.
    It isn't raining here today.
It was yesterday so what I did was take my aunt over to the nursing home to have a visit with her husband, my uncle.

I like the rain myself and like to go out and walk in it!

Now that our roof is fixed, I don't mind rainy days at all.
I will sit at the computer and do a little blogging just like you Pilgrim Fisher and write a few emails.

Hey, not that I am complaining because I know you have lots to do but how about it?
On a rainy day maybe you can leave this weary Pilgrim Pal of yours a comment or two on her blog site,eh?
Mind you though just on the next rainy day!

As for YOU Hebrews 11:1....I will have to answer you comment on my blog later on.
That Bernie just got home and wants to go for his cup of coffee at his favorite spot.
    No!~ Not Tim Hortons!
    Macdonalds'!

Hey Pilgrim Pal Boss...Three cheers for the Senators tonight, although with all the losing the Sabres have been doing and us living so close to Buffalo, that Lake Erie is almost overflowing its banks with the whole lot of crying that has been going on in Buffalo!![sorry little Montreal girl...This just had to be said!]

  5. Oh David...I do like this list. Kind of makes me wish for a CRD (cloudy, rainy day). I can almost imagine your office. Is that a picture of your desk? How about snapping a photo of the view out your window? I bet ya dollars to donuts...you have oodles and oodles of books!
