Challenge

Recently I shot this photo at dusk here at our home in Cavan.

My challenge is for you to write something "spiritual" concerning this picture. Something about our walk with God. Our pilgrimage.

I already have something in mind to post. I'd like to see you, my readers, take a shot at this.
Go ahead. Let me read your comments! Thanks!
God is good!

  2. Psalm 119:105
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

In our journey through life and our walk with God it is easy to wish we could see everything in advance...so we would know exactly where to walk. But God doesn't do that...He can see the way and we, through prayer, faith and study have a light for our path.

While it's hard sometimes, we have to remember that whether we walk the path or happen to get off it a bit, God is always there beside us and we don't need to be scared because He will guide us back onto the path.

I like this picture because you can see the light up ahead while still being in darkness, and if you look at the bottom, you can see enough light for your steps. It is like that with us...we can look forward to being in the light (heaven) but until we get there, we have enough light to take a few steps...and when we take those steps (in faith) God will give us light for a few more...and so on.

How's that David? Did I pass? :0) By the way...nice write up about you (and Mike!) in the Ptbo. Examiner special magazine that was in yesterday's paper!

  3. I posted down on pals already -- but I LIKE JULIE'S comment here -- I am using hers too --

IS THAT CONSIDERED CHEATING ? !

I like where she said - there is enough light for the footsteps , and then HE gives more -

Sorry teacher David, I'm using Julie's comment -

  4. It reminded me of this tune from summer camps day....

From the rising of the sun
to the going down of the same,
the name of the Lord shall be praised.

From the rising of the sun
to the going down of the same,
the name of the Lord shall be praised.

    So praise ye the Lord.
    Praise ye the Lord.

From the rising of the sun
to the going down of the same,
the name of the Lord shall be praised.

  5. shadows may fall ... and times may seem bleak ...

yet - the end of days will really be a new beginning ... in a place where there will never be shadows ... and bleakness will never be known ...

  6. Hey, Lauramae! I know that song, too! I learned that when I was around 7 years old and we sang that all the time in the homechurch group we were with!
