Shantzy's Busy Visit

David Shantz, Peterborough Petes' goaltender, drafted and signed by the Florida Panthers, was at our home last week for a visit. What a workout we gave "Shantzy"! We ran him ragged on the driveway in a game of ballhockey. We shot some hoops. David taught Nathan some socker tricks. We went for a hike in the back field.

After going inside, David took the dishes out of the dishwasher and put them away. If Carol hadn't already cooked a roast with Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, gravy, asparagus, cheese sauce, carrots and all the rest, David would have done that too.

After our delicious meal, Mr. Shantz went down to the family room after being challenged to a game of X-Box Hockey by Matthew and Nathan.

Several hours later little David posed with big David in front of our van and after saying our "goodbyes", which lasted half an hour, our friend was gone.

God blessed me richly this season with a solid Christian player on the Petes' team who encouraged me and contributed to the most profitable and fruitful season we've ever had.

Thanks, David and thank you, Father!
