May Flowers

As we were transitioning from April to May I thought of a crazy joke that we've heard at our church and our Christian school:

"If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring?"

One Sunday when this question was posed at our church, one of our members shouted, "Pilgrims". Get it? The pilgrims came over to America on the Mayflower and landed at Plymouth Rock.

We have two families of Pilgrims at our church, Tim & Lori Pilgrim and Jim & Mary Jane Pilgrim.

The true Church, the Body of Christ, is made up entirely of "pilgrims". As the lyrics of a song I recently posted declare, "We are on a journey, destination - heaven."

How is your pilgrimage going? Have you chosen your destination? Are you "bound for the Promised Land"? Have you made the decision to trust Jesus Christ and spend eternity with Him? If so, you are part of that Band of Believers that's marching home.

Speaking of April showers bringing May flowers . . . today is looking pretty cloudly. What do May showers bring? Time to get out John Deere and begin cutting the grass for another season.

Have a good and godly day (as Woodrow Kroll from the Back to the Bible Broadcast says).
