Poor Substitute

One of the main reasons why Matthew and I went to Erie, PA last weekend was to check out the Splash Lagoon indoor water park. Carol and I had seen it before but the kids hadn't been there.

You can imagine Matthew's disappointment when we learned that we couldn't get a day pass on Sunday. He didn't cry but it was close. We decided to do the next best (???) thing. We had a large jacuzzi in our room so we filled it up and dove in.
Wow! So exciting!

But wait...that was Sunday. Monday was a new day with new opportunities, new possibilities.

We checked for day passes on Monday morning and there were plenty. Now for some "real" fun! Matthew had a great time! This old pilgrim was exhausted!

Is there a point to this story? I think so! All too often we complain when things don't work out the way we had planned. Instead of bemoaning our misfortune we should expect better things to happen down the road. Who knows what tomorrow might bring?

I was reminded of two quotes from the past. The first one goes something like this: "God always reserves the best for those who leave the choice with Him."

The other: "The future is as bright as the promises of God." Discouraged by your circumstances today? Leave them in the capable, strong hands of an omnipotent God. Tomorrow is coming! Trust Him and expect great things!
