Nothing Between

"But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light." - 1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)

Is His glorious light shining through today or is it blocked by all the seemingly harmless branches and limbs of everyday living that separate us from His loving touch?

I'm reminded of the words to an old hymn as I pen these scattered thoughts...

NOTHING BETWEEN

Nothing between my soul and my Savior,
Naught of this world’s delusive dream;
I have renounced all sinful pleasure;
Jesus is mine, there’s nothing between.

Refrain:

Nothing between my soul and my Savior,
So that His blessed face may be seen;
Nothing preventing the least of His favor;
Keep the way clear! Let nothing between.

Nothing between, like worldly pleasure;
Habits of life, though harmless they seem,
Must not my heart from Him ever sever;

Self or friends shall not intervene;
