Communion at St.Timothy's

It's amazing how often the words "Tim Hortons" find their way into our Christian blogs, sermons on Sundays and the daily conversations of the followers of Jesus.

Of course this is primarily a Canadian phenomenon but our American friends are regularly meeting at St. Arbucks for their communion and conversation.

How many seeds have been planted at these coffee churches? How many of those seeds have been watered there? How many have come to fruition within the hallowed (???) walls of these sanctuaries?

Just think...Tim Horton was a dumb jock (in some people's minds) who was killed in a tragic car accident before his empire became so famous.

Let's share the love of Jesus whenever and wherever we get the opportunity!

Meet me at Timmy's at 11:30 tomorrow morning!

  1. We WOULD meet you there Mr. Fisher but we are too far away. Bernie is on days and I am on evenings!!

One of the three original Timmy's was in Welland.
They are Ok in the States but they are not opened all night! I think they close about 11.

You are right that seeds are sown here. One time after a Hamilton concert, we all went to a Tim Horton's and the place was full. I spotted a young Arabian man just beside the tables that all my friends were sitting at and asked if I could share the table with him and he said "Yes". We had a really good chat about Jesus. I am so ashamed to tell you that I never had a gospel tract to give to him and neither did any of the large group of us, so I asked him if he would like a nice hymn cassette. "Three For One" had given it to me, so I gave it to that young man. He was glad to take it and I pray that he listened to the message that was on those songs. He was Muslim.
We will see results in heaven of these little encounters that we have had with people. The Lord always gives the opportunity.I just wish that I can say that I have taken them all!

I don't think that Tim Horton was a dumb jock. Anyone of us could have fallen into the same things if the conditons were there. That accident was truly tragic. I think it must of broken his dear wife's heart.... From Terry

  2. My friend sent me the following story:

Two American tourists were driving through Nova Scotia. As they were approaching Shubenacadie
(shoe-been-aack-id-dee), they started arguing about the pronunciation of the town's name.

They argued back and forth until they stopped for lunch As they stood at the counter, one tourist asked the blonde employee,

"Before we order, could you please settle an argument for us? Would you please pronounce where we are... ver-r-ry slo-o-owly?

The blonde waitress leaned over the counter and said:

    "Tiiimmmmm Hoorrrrttoooonnns"
