Brother Lawrence...Not Quite

This morning, while cleaning up the kitchen at my job at Christian Horizons, I received a phone call from a workmate who I had just been thinking about. She always has a timely word of encouragement!

I had been struggling to climb out of a dark, slimy pit of despair when Deborah called. She asked me to pray about a certain issue and she graciously reminded me of "a friend who sticks closer than a brother". Her words of encouragement lifted me. Suddenly I sensed the presence of God in a fresh way while drying the dishes. Brother Lawrence of old, a priest whose daily responsibilities were carried out in the kitchen at the monastery, experienced the intimate nearness of his God while working away. He penned his thoughts in the classic, "Practicing the Presence of God" or "The Practice of the Presence of God" as it is sometimes called.

After Deborah hung up, the Lord gave me these words of blessing and encouragement:

He governs the affairs of men,
He's proved it time and time again,
He always does what's best, but then...
He's Sovereign!

Regardless of your circumstances today, our eternal God is, in fact, sovereign and He truly governs our affairs from His throne in the heavenlies. TRUST HIM TODAY! Father knows best!

I don't mean to be a pest, so if this message is an annoyance, please delete it and accept my humblest of apologies. I just want to share my music with people who love Jesus.
