Celebrating Our 1,000th Post

Yesterday I spent the day in the hospital being tested for "who knows what"! We were afraid that the cellulitis was returning. The on-call doctor felt that it wasn't but he prescribed a fairly strong dosage of anti-biotics to ward off any return. I had been extremely tired on Monday and yesterday morning I could not stay awake. One thing they detected was a lack of oxygen in my blood which may account for my ongoing sleepiness. More tests are being scheduled.

Anyhow, I said all that to say this...

While laying there on my uncomfortable hospital bed I was trying to think of what to write to celebrate my 1,000th posting on PILGRIM SCRIBBLINGS. What I decided was the launching of yet another site which will be entitled "the Barnabas Blog". Our mandate at the Barnabas Blog will be to provide encouragement for weary pilgrims as they journey home. Barnabas was "the son of encouragement" (Acts 4:36) and I want to follow in his footsteps.

Check out the Barnabas Blog at http://www.acts436.blogspot.com

Be encouraged today and thank you for your encouragement over these last 23 1/2 months and 1,000 postings.

Grateful to God for His amazing grace,

David W. Fisher

  3. Wow...most people would just challenge themselves to another 1000 postings...you, on the other hand decide you need another blog!! I have a hard enough time keeping one current!!!

About the lack of oxygen in your blood...go to one of the health food stores (i.e. Joannes) and get some stuff you add to water, etc. I forget the exact name of it, but basically it is like liquid oxygen...you add a few drops to water (you can't taste it) and it helps more oxygen to get through your bloodstream. My cousin's wife who has a liver problem takes it, and her doctor was amazed how how much better her bloodwork results were.

Just a suggestion...trying to keep you healthy so that you can keep up the posting!

  5. Congratulations on your 1000th posting, David. Count me in as a reader. I have to tell you, I once thought of the name 'Barnabette's Blog' (the female version of Barnabas), but never went with it. Hope you are feeling better. Take some Greens+ every day (get it anywhere, Shoppers, or JoAnnes Place) to oxygenate that blood and give you some energy.

  6. Dear friend, I pray you'll get good medical treatment and that the Great Physician will supervise it all! May you recover and regain strength. As a weary pilgrim myself, I'm looking forward to this new blog of yours! I'll scoot right over....oh, and HAPPY 1000th post! That's quite an accomplishment!

    Blessings in Christ,
    Vicki

  7. First, congrats on your 1,000th post! Way to go. I'm looking forward to your new blog.

Second, if you have ten readers plus Brodie, then doesn't that make 11 readers? ;) Am I included in the 10 readers? If not, then you actually have 12. *grin*

Thirdly, I'm praying for wisdom and direction from above for the doctors who are treating you. Take care, Brother.
