Dads Leading the Way

The following "post" appeared on Gayla's blog on Father's Day. As a father of 2 grown sons, a step son and 2 young adopted boys, I know, from experience, the truth contained in this poem. A good reminder and challenge for those of us who lead the way. Thanks for sharing it, Gayla. Check out Gayla's site at: http://www.heart-journey.blogspot.com

A Little Fellow Follows Me

A careful man I want to be...
A little fellow follows me
I do not care to go astray
For fear he'll go the same way

I cannot once escape his eyes
What he sees me do, he tries
Like me - he says he's going to be
That little fellow who follows me

He believes in every word of mine
The bad in me, he must not see
That little fellow who follows me
I must remember as I go
Through summer sun and winter snow
I'm building for the years to be
That little fellow who follows me.
