Time Flies...Leaves Fall

Just over a year ago, on Labor Day 2004, I penned the following lines at Elim Lodge, the Christian Conference Centre where I serve on the board.

I was saddened by the fact that summer was over and a long, cold winter was staring me in the face. I thought the following summer would never arrive. Well it came quickly and now it's over. Again I'm thinking that my favorite time of year is 9 months away. But, like last fall, winter and spring, the days will fly past and we'll be welcoming the summer conference season again. Our boys love Elim! They can swim, play in the park, swim, go to the Snackery, swim, eat in the Dining Hall and, did I mention swimming?

Here's those lines:

Guests are leaving
Leaves are falling
Fall is coming
Summer's gone!

Reminds me of a couple of scriptures. I can't give the chapter and verse right now but they go something like this...

"The summer is over and we're still not saved."

"Redeeming the time because the days are evil."

Yes, time is quickly passing so we must work while it is light because the night is coming when no man can work. Let's take every opportunity to live godly lives before our family, friends, workmates and others and when the opportunity arises, tell them of Jesus and His great love.

Time is passing...
