Bringin' 'Em Back

Driving to work tonight I got wondering who I'd like to bring back from the grave for a meeting of the minds. If I could have a conference with a dozen (12) people who have died, who would they be? Morbid? I don't think so! I'd love to have these twelve individuals sitting around a table for an evening. I'd be picking their brains. Asking for advice. Inquiring how they were able to do what they did. Here's a list that I came up with (in no particular order):

1. My father, Chester W. Fisher
2. George Muller, Orphanage Builder (see picture)
3. Jim Elliot, Martyred Missionary
4. The Apostle Paul
5. Jesus, of course
6. Amy Carmichael, Missionary to India
7. Grandma Fisher
8. Charles Spurgeon, Prince of Preachers
9. J. Hudson Taylor, Missionary to China
10. Grandma Powers

Now who would be on your list? Please let me know, just for fun! THANKS!

  1. These guys aren't dead, but I think I'd want to bring back the Blue Jays team of 92/93 :)
    Praying for you Dave!

  2. Humm...what an intriguing post David. Now you've got me thinking. It's going to take a while to come up with a dozen...but here's a few right off the top of my head.

Obviously...Jesus tops the list, followed by Paul. Peter my favorite apostle...whom I most closely identify myself with. Boaz...since I love the story in Ruth so very much...and am seeking my own Boaz. On personal note...maybe my Grandmother Mary Johnson. She died before I became a Christian. I wonder how we would have gotten along after we had that in common. We didn't have a great realtionship as I was growing up. Maybe my dad Frank. To my knowledge he was not a Christian. Would like to know him better...and share gospel message with him. Thanks for this post...it's a good one. Susan
