Caustic Comments

Greetings friends (and enemies). As you may have noticed, I've received some not-so-friendly comments from some visitors to this blog. They have called me a narcissist and a capitalist Christian. Oh well! God knows my heart and so do most of you, my readers. Perhaps in the future my antagonists could leave their names so I could reply. Then again maybe I should be like my Master who "opened not his mouth".

Let's keep praying for those affected by Hurricane Katrina and, when possible, do something tangible through one of the many relief agencies that are involved!

In His care,

David

  2. Hey David...yes, I had one of those last week. Here's what it said:

    You are brainwashed.
    There is no LOVING creator.
    Just look around.
Religion is truly the drug of the nation.I pity you.

I truly felt such sadness for this person (who of course did not have the courage to leave a name). Imagine going through life not believing in a loving God. The thing that always gets me is this, there is a great line in the movie Contact when Matthew McConnaughy's character says,"Our job was to select someone to speak for everybody. And I just couldn't in good conscience vote for a person who doesn't believe in God. Someone who honestly thinks the other ninety five percent of us suffer from some form of mass delusion." I've always wondered the same thing. If 95% of the world believes in a higher being, how can those few 5% really think that they are the ones who have it right. I mean, the odds alone say they're wrong. Anyways, you're an incredible man, used by God and loved by all of us here, so keep on writing and lift those nay-sayers before God. They really need our love and grace!

  3. Hi David - thanks for your comment on my blog today.

About the Name above All Names link in my sidebar.

To get the link, just click on it and copy the url that it brings up. I attached the little picture to it myself. It's one I already had in "my pictures." I think it's from some Chrisitan avatar site. You're welcome to take it as well. Just right click on it and copy the 'properties.' I just have it hosted in my photobucket.

Hope all this makes sense. I'll be looking for it on your site!

BTW, just keep up the good work and don't fret over the 'anons' in this world. You're posts are always good and I enjoy reading a lot!!

  5. Hi David... Oh, I received three of those comments from one person tonight--terrible, awful stuff accusing me of everything under the sun...sigh... But you know? I'm not going to let it bother me because since the hurricane, the traffic to my blog has doubled and it blows me away at how many people are seeking for answers in these troubled times. My task then remains to write what I feel God wants me to and not what others want to hear. I'm glad you are still here blogging away for the Kingdom! God bless... Debra

  6. Hey David,

I like how you said that in the future maybe you should not say anything at all... specially if they do not leave their name... I hope you don't feel like you have to defend yourself here, we the regular readers have come to know you through your blog and have been shown your kind heart. I know any of us would defend your character in a flash if it was necessary.

    Blessings
    Dan.
