This afternoon (Saturday) we watched the Sens beat the visiting Atlanta Thrashers 5-3 with Mike playing a strong game and scoring an empty net goal to put the game out of reach (see picture of the team congratulating Mike). We enjoyed the game from the Senators' private box courtesy of the Sens' President, Roy Mlakar. Roy has become a good friend over the last few years.
I commented to David during the game, "I'm almost feeling guilty that "ministry" can be this much fun." Seriously...it was a joy to be in Ottawa and to serve the Lord through the outreach provided to the hockey world through Hockey Ministries International.
God is good!
Really nice for you and the "Little Fish" David...from Terry
ReplyDeleteglad you got feeling better and were able to go!!!
ReplyDeleteleo says he was almost envious, as he read where you got to sit - but then he remembered sitting in johnny esaw's seat during a game, once upon a time ... :o)
thanks for the bday greetings - had a wonderful fam/friend type day ... and ate junk food!
What a delightful weekend! I'm glad you had such an enjoyable time. There just isn't anything like being refreshed while in the midst of doing the Lord's work!
ReplyDeleteI just back from my trip to Ottawa,so I thought I would swing by and see how yours went- apparently it went very well!
ReplyDeleteDon't feel guilty about having fun...isn't there an expression about all work and no fun?! Although I must admit, I'm turning slightly green with envy- private box seats (congrats to Mike on the goal!) and ribs from Baton Rouge! (I honestly don't think I've had more delicious ribs than the ones at Baton Rouge!).
Glad the Lord watched over you during the trip and you made it home safely. I hope you continue to feel better!
I'm off to unpack, but I quickly glanced over some of your latest posts on the Barnabas blog, so I'll have to come back again later!
Glad you had such fun! God bless you for all the great work you do!
