Heaven's Biggest Surprise

A friend send this poem by e-mail today! Reminds me of what someone once said regarding the three surprises we'll find in heaven:

1. That many we didn't think would be there WILL be there.
2. That many we thought would be there WON'T be there.
3. The biggest surprise will be that we are there ourselves.

We know that the only way we have entrance to God's heaven is by trusting His Son, confessing and repenting of our sin and accepting His forgiveness. Then we will have the assurance that we WILL be there, based entirely on God's promises and the merits of His Son, not our own. Let's tell other of Jesus and His love so they can go with us.

Here's that poem:

HEAVEN

I was shocked, confused, bewildered
as I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
by the lights of its decor.

But it was the folks in Heaven
who made me sputter and gasp,
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
the alcoholics, the trash.

There stood the kid from seventh grade
who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my neighbor
who never said anything nice.

Herb, who I always thought
was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
looking incredibly well.

I nudged Jesus, "What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.

And why's everyone so quiet,
so somber? Give me a clue."
"Hush, child, said He, They're all in shock.
No one thought that they'd see you!"
